Accepted/ Rejected

I think we should post the accepted, rejected, and deferred ED letters. Also if you got in or got rejected post your stats and a little about yourself to help future applicants.

**** ******,

Here is your admission decision letter.

******,

Congratulations! On behalf of our Admission Committee, I am delighted to convey the news that your application to Claremont McKenna College has been accepted for the semester beginning in September, 2009. Welcome to the Class of 2013.

The selection process just completed represents the most competitive situation ever for Early Decision applicants to CMC, with an increase of 29% over last year's record number. With Claremont McKenna College's commitment to being a small, residential, liberal arts college, we seriously limited the number of students who were admitted at this time (the rest were deferred or denied), you should feel especially proud of yourself.

Of course, your enrollment here is contingent upon your continuing your high level of academic achievement and course enrollment through your senior year of high school. Please be sure to have your seventh-semester transcript (mid-year grades) sent to us in the near future and also have your final transcript sent to us in June.

We also wish to acknowledge your interest in competing for a Seaver Leadership Scholarship and a McKenna Achievement Award. All the merit scholarship applications will be reviewed during the next two months. Our goal is to invite 75 finalists to visit and interview here during the weekend of March 7 and 8. We anticipate notifying you by mid-February if you are one of these finalists.

If you have applied earlier for need-based financial aid, your financial aid decision will be sent to you in a few days.

To accept our offer of admission, you should send a check or money order made out to Claremont McKenna College for $500.00 along with the enclosed Early Decision Agreement and the Commitment Card. This non-refundable commitment deposit will reserve your place in the freshman class and be applied to next year's tuition bill. Under the terms of our Early Decision plan, that is, that CMC is your first choice, you are now expected to accept this offer of admission as soon as possible -- no later than February 1. At this time you are also expected to write to any other colleges to which you have applied for admission to request that your application be withdrawn. Furthermore, it is expected that you will not initiate any additional applications to other colleges.

Later on we shall send you complete information about your residence hall choices, Orientation Week, and the opening of the college. Because Claremont McKenna College guarantees on-campus housing for all four years, you do not need to worry about that just now. In the near future we will also invite you to attend one of our Inside CMC Days for admitted students, which will be held on Friday, April 10, and Friday, April 17. If you have any questions or if we may be of any additional assistance to you, *****, please be sure to get in touch with us.

Our faculty, students, and staff join me in congratulating you! We are looking forward to welcoming you to Claremont McKenna College.

Sincerely,

Dean of Admission
