Just wondering if anyone knows when Pitt generally has accepted student day(s). And is it better to attend that versus sitting in on a class and staying overnight on a regular weekend?

Accepted Student days were very informative for both students and parents. As I recall, there were specific presentations for individual schools and also tours. They discussed curriculum and class choices, as well as transitioning to college in general. I don't remember if an overnight stay was included though. You could probably get the itinerary if you called OAFA.

They also have an honors college day, too. Very similar to accepted students day. We couldn't make it to honors college day, but did go to accepted students day (which I think they hold in the spring if I remember correctly). We visited the campus several times and every time we learned something new about the college. Not sure about the overnight stuff. My D was never very interested in doing one. I also seem to remember that the accepted students days fell on Saturdays and the honors college days fell of Fridays. Correct me if I'm wrong. Even though it was about a year ago, it seems like a very long time ago.

I do think the day for accepted honors students was the best one of all (and the longest). Definitely go to that if it applies to you.

An overnight wasn't offered, but my daughter really wanted to do one, so I pushed for it. If you ask, it can happen.

My D has a friend at Pitt who LOVES it and very much wants her to come and stay overnight with her. I am thinking that perhaps she should schedule to visit on a Friday and sit in on some classes and then spend the night with her. If it worked out perhaps she could go up the day before the accepted student day....Do you recall if they only had 1 accepted student day or if a few different dates were offered? Thanks.

They offered several accepted students days.
