Accepted Student Days

My daughter will be going April 6-8. Anyone else?

My daughter will be there April 20-22. She visited last summer but would like to attend classes and see what its like when students are there.

My daughter is planning to be there April 20-22. She has not visited Carleton before.

I'm probably going April 20-22. I've never visited before (and plane tickets seem very expensive), but I'm looking forward to seeing the campus.

I'm going April 6 to 8. I visited beginning of junior year but my memory is mush.

I would go... except my financial aid packet is so ridiculously terrible that I think I've given up on carleton... which was my second choice school =/

If I can get any financial aid whatsoever, I'll be going April 20-22.

I am going April 6-8! I may even be able to meet someone from CC.

My son is a freshman at Carleton. He says the overnights help seal the deal. Have fun!

Accepted student days are always great. Admissions does a wonderful job setting everything up.

I think you can get travel vouchers for some amount of money, though you might have to fly Northwest for that. When I worked in admissions, I know we were giving them to some people.

Call the financial aid office and tell them. It's not at all unheard-of for people to end up with better offers this way.

Yeah, as long as you fly Northwest, you can qualify for a special reduced ticket price. They're the only airline that does that, though.

I'm thinking of booking a flight for April 6-8 but it looks like bad weather is coming to Northfield... should I hold out and wait for April 20-22 or will the chance of bad weather not ruin plans?

I'm going on April 6-8! So terribly excited ... I wasn't so sure about Carleton, but their English department looks OUTSTANDING and I'm really excited to learn more about it.

We will be going to the April 20-22 visit with our S. We live in WI about 5 hours from Carleton but have not visited the campus yet.

april 6th! tomorrow! hopefully the weather isn't too bad

I checked - showers tomorrow, sunny on Friday. Pretty chilly both days.

Just heard from my daughter, who is on her way back. She had a great time, loved the students, loved the classes, was amused by the streakers, and she bought a sweatshirt. I think she'll almost certainly choose Carleton.

I loved everything, too! (although I could have done whithot the streakers!) What dorm did your D stay in? I wonder if I met her.

My daughter stayed on first floor Burton with another prospie from Maryland. She sat in on a class about international relations and another on biodiversity (was supposed to be global economy, but it was cancelled).

Burton is a pretty nice dorm. Pretty raucous as far as Carleton dorms go, but still nice. Do you happen to know which IR prof? In any event, it seems like anybody seriously considering Carleton who goes to the admitted student events ends up enrolling.
