Accepted Student Events

Hi guys,

I was accepted to UDel this week and I have already sent my deposit in. I was wondering about the different accepted student events... there's a info session and tour for seniors, admitted students receptions, and a Delaware decision day. I've already seen the campus twice and gone on a tour, and I know for sure I'm going to UD. Which of these events should I go to and what are the differences between them?? Thanks and congrats to everyone accepted!

If you have already made a decision to attend UD and have visited the campus and gone on a tour I don’t feel you you would derive much benefit from going to the info sessions/tour for Sr.'s or by going to the local receptions. The same is pretty much true for the Decision Days in April. At the decision days there are some breakdown sessions for various Deparments/Majors which may provide some additional information for students regarding their major. I know in the Nursing session you get to tour the Nursing SIM lab and presentations are given by current Nursing students regarding their experiences in the Nursing curriculum. Other sessions (ie Business) tend to be more general in nature and focus on describing the different sub-major areas available at UD. At all these sessions you have a chance to ask any questions you might have. Some students who have already decided to attend UD just go to begin to begin to establish their identity as a UD student. Of course if you plan to attend UD you can begin to stock up on UD items (clothes, etc.). The bottom line, IMHO, is that unless you have some of the interests noted above in going you probably would not be missing much if you don’t attend. But IMHO it was a fun day overall. Others might feel differently.
