Is anyone going to the accepted student overnight on April 18th? DD will be there for that. She is very much looking forward to it.

I'm thinking about it.

I think it's too late to make reservations. When DD made hers she was told there were limited openings. I'm not sure there are any left.

Anyone have the link to that?

i thought you couldn't do overnights at scu? if you can and a nyone could fill me in thatd be awesome. thanks!

Hi Thumper,
We went to the preview day on Sunday. Son really liked the economics prof and the poli sci prof. all were interesting and yet soft spoken. Mr. Locatelli said a few words about the qualities of the applicants admitted. Lots of excellent students with great qualities and abilities, etc. I left feeling son had made the right choice for himself. The people we met were impressive and friendly. There were families there from Boston, Colorado, Texas, Seattle, lots of southern Californians and other states I can't recall now. We were shown two dorm styles, Sobrato had the suites and Sanfilippo had the double room. One of the girls rooms was decorated with a crystal chandelier, short dark pink satin curtains with matching comforter and lots of black and white movie clip photos of Audrey Hepburn in her Breakfast at Tiffanies movie. By far the best decorated room. The Sobrato rooms seemed small, fine for a single , bit cramped for a double. Because we were there on a Sunday there were fewer students around, but still plenty of them to gauge the kind of crowd. Pretty much a clean cut, average dressed crowd with parents that were the same but maybe more tweed. The school put on a very organized preview day. Had plenty of good food, free lunch and continental breakfast. The students were putting on a fair in front of the library with a dunking tank and other activities that we didn't really notice as we went to tour the dorms.
It is still raining out here to the point homes on hills are in danger of sliding in several areas. I think this is supposed to clear up after this weekend. We are not doing the overnight as I said, but the Bon Appetit manager and chef set us up for an am appointment that day with them to begin laying ground work on sons dietary needs. Thats probably the best news is that they seem so willing to make sure they will provide his wheat free meals. Hope your trip goes well. With any luck this record rain fall will stop this weekend.

Really wish I could've been there, especially when you said people from Colorado were there! Alas, I consider my classes to be more important and had to finish up some work.

Fortunately, the overnights are during DD's spring vacation. No missed classes!!

How lucky! My spring vacation was the last week of March. Is the next event the orientation in the summer?

the next orentation is the enrolled students in July. Its a required two day event. They recommend you bring a sleeping bag. Info can be found at the SCU's website.

I guess I will just wait till July then, thanks.
