Updated test scores are accepted through March 1. Improved scores MAY improve scholarship awards.

My daughter received a letter informing her she is a finalist for the National Scholars program - we are all doing the happy dance at our house! Does anyone have any advice for the scholarship weekend?

Great news! Question - how was it delivered, Fedex, overnight post office? what state are you in?

We are in DE. Received via FedEx January 10.

Congrats to everyone accepted! Be sure to apply to the honors college. Im not sure of min gpa anf sat scores but it was approx 1400 last year and to 3 % of lass. It’s really competitive to get in but worth every bit of the extra essays! Eureka summer program is a great way or oos students to get acquainted with others! Go tigers!

Ps. My daughter is very sociable and loves the school.

Yes, definitely apply to the honors college - it’s a great program at Clemson. If you don’t get in at the start but have at least a 3.5 GPA (preferably higher), you can apply for honors after each semester.

D got the TigerTownBound envelope today! $15K OOS scholarship. Needless to say she’s pretty pumped. Still waiting to hear from honors college.

Anyone else from TN?

Just got my acceptance letter yesterday with 15k/year!! 1420/2200 and 4.0 UW/4.5 W, out of state! So excited and I am considering applying to the honors college! Congratulations, everybody!

For those of you who are getting OOS scholarships: Is the award above and beyond the OOS waiver, or is it included in your merit award. For example, many have said they received $15,000 OOS. Does the differential between in-state and out-of-state make up part of that award? I spoke to Admissions last week and they confirmed that my S would be receiving a letter this week announcing his merit award.

Are you asking if the scholarship is out of state tuition waiver + $15K??

Yes, bigdaddy. Seems like it is only a OOS tuition waiver.

I can’t speak for the others, but my D’s scholarship just stated $15k/yr. not $15k in addition to the OOS tuition waiver. Man, that would be amazing!

Got the big orange tigertown bound envelope! My S was just accepted to Clemson college of engineering. He’s OOS and received 15k per year merit scholarship 60k over 4 years. He’s excited. So far he’s been accepted to NC State, University of Virginia, Penn State, University of Kentucky. Still have 4 more schools to hear from. This merit scholarship pretty much reduces tuition at Clemson to in-state tuition, that will make Clemson a financially competitive choice with our state school. My S is going to have some tough decisions to make. We’re going to visit Clemson on Sunday and also USC whom we haven’t heard from yet.

My OOS son heard a while back and got a 15K/year out of state scholarship. He has not heard anything from the Honors College yet. Is anyone else still waiting to hear from the Honors College and if you did hear, did you get additional scholarship money from the Honors College? His SAT is 2250 and ACT was a perfect 36 so I’m thinking he should get in the Honors College.

They don’t give additional scholarships solely for being in the honors college and he should know by February 15 whether he was accepted to the Honors College.

I thought Honors College applications were due by March 1? My S’s app has been submitted for a month but his guidance counselor has yet to submit his part, everything else is complete. We’ve had so much snow here that we haven’t had school for two weeks. Today there’s supposed to be school on a 2 hour delay (icy roads) so hopefully he can talk to his guidance counselor and push him to submit. His guidance counselor is new this year and it has been difficult to get him to do what needs to be done throughout the college application process. Really tough having a new guidance counselor.

Hey forget it, I see that the priority deadlines are different for the honors college and you hear back on Feb 15. School was canceled again today. My S is still going to push his counselor as regular admission to the honors college is on a rolling basis.

Sometimes you just have to bother the counselors enough…my counselor in high school wasn’t helpful at all and my transcripts almost didn’t get to one school in time, even though I requested them months in advance. I hope this can clear up some confusion about the Honors College https://www.applyweb.com/apply/clemson/info_honors.html

Has anyone been accepted to the nursing program yet?

I don’t think the $15,000 scholarship completely covers the difference between out of state and in-state tuition but it comes pretty dang close. (about 3 K short)
