Does anyone know when the Accepted Students Day is? Since my daughter was accepted before Christmas, we've received no further communication. I called Admissions and someone said they THOUGHT it was Sunday, March 3 -- but didn't know the time. Nothing on the website under Visitation.

Found out Accepted Students Days are 3/3 and 4/13, 9-1:00. Admissions person was surprised we hadn’t received email, but they had two valid email addresses on file. Has anyone else heard, and how? Definteily one of the poorest communications of the 8 schools to which my daughter applied, and I would count that against Drew.

We received an email. Did you check your spam folder?

Even after the admissions person said she’s email the info, we didn’t receive it. Nothing goes into spam in my email, from tons of messages from other schools (whether she applied or not), to ads for Viagra LOL!
When did you receive the email?

I know that I just got my invitation today–I would give it some time if you still haven’t heard

I think it’s ok to phone the admissions office if you haven’t received the invite. Ds came from “college admissions”. Easily overlooked if you’re not obsessively checking the inbox. D will be attending the event. Drew is looking better and better. I’ll bet the nice merit packages draw many serious students. I’m not that concerned about the “reputation” and “selectivity profile”. Frankly, I’m just so tired of hearing kids (and especially their parents) stressing that a 3.6 and 1800 SAT isn’t “good enough”. Education isn’t supposed to be a numbers game. It’s supposed to be about growing, learning and preparing for meaningful and productive adult life.
D is anxious learn about “life at Drew”: internships, athletics, clubs, community involvement, etc. She’s not a “partier” but does like to have fun, try new things, meet new people.

We got the admitted students day email on February 4. D is registered to go on March 3. She is very excited.

Yay I got in and I got Baldwin Honors

21,500 a year
but that’s not enough
i need more
;<

but i’m still excited )

We will be there March 3! Daughter was accepted to a “harder” school (4.15 unweighted GPA/2120 SAT), but issues like shyness and bipolar are making me (and maybe her) reconsider where she would feel more nurtured.

I agree with you, momneeds2no. I’m conditioned by the suburban school system I’m in (20 minutes from Drew) to feel like we need a big name school.
Trying to weigh all factors.

Had a surprisingly near-perfect day at Drew, for Admitted Students. It’s the perfect school for many students – hope my daughter will seriously consider.

My daughter also loved it. Her whole face lit up when she talked about it. Still a few schools to visit again but Drew is definitely still at or near the top.

Well, we, D & I, both met a few very nice folks. In fact everybody we spoke to was great. We even had lunch with a another family. The campus is lovely.
A few concerns: Merit aid does not apply to study abroad programs (??) unless you choose UN, Wall Street, Cont Art or London semester. Seems as if pretty much everyone met on the our was “local” less than 100 miles from campus. Did anybody else pick-up on this? I feel bad because the school went above and beyond to make Ds visit informative and productive. Drew is offering a fabulous financial package. But those two facts may be deal breakers…

Your daughter should join the Drew University Class of 2017 Facebook page. She will get a better idea of where kids are from. The new Admissions Director is making a focus of recruiting students from other parts of the country, and overseas.

Thanks Paul. Drew did a great job of recruiting from D’s Los Angeles area high school. I think about 4 kids were accepted. All of whom (I remember as D classmates over the years) are intelligent, highly motivated, mature and extremely interesting girls with diverse unique talents. Drew is definitely making good choices in admissions.
