Still waiting for RD, but wondering if anyone knows if BC offers accepted students days? I thought somewhere I read that they do, but I can’t find it. Just wanting to get a look at our calendar and try to match up their days and ours in case he is fortunate enough to come back and get a good look there (and I can pull the trigger on flights sooner than later ). TIA
Registration for April Admitted Eagle Days (April 7, 2019 & April 14, 2019) will open in mid-March.
I believe there were 4 over the spring and summer of 2018. I took part in one May of last years. I hear BC will have the same amount this year.
Good luck.
Has anyone participated in Eagle for a Day? My D was accepted EA and is excited about BC, but it is bigger than many of the schools she applied to. Although there are three times the number of undergraduates, when we went to the Accepted Student program, the school didn’t actually “feel” that big to me. We are waiting on a a few more colleges, but I would love for her to focus on BC as it is a really great school. Even my husband, a UMass Amherst grad with a bias ? toward BC, came around after Accepted Students Day and he is sold. My D’s only concern is it is the biggest school she applied to. Any feedback on this Eagle for a Day program from those who participated is very welcome. This is my fourth child through the college process and it seems like it is getting harder and harder to get into college these days (unless you can photo shop your face on an athlete, wink, wink). She was wait listed at smaller schools that I consider to be good colleges, but frankly don’t have as much to offer as BC. It’s been an unexpected roller coaster ride with this one.
@JWU1964 I am a student here at BC. The school does not feel large by any measure. It’s large enough to create some buzz and excitement but small enough to feel intimate and exclusive, like a club. I visited some schools that had < than 3k students and the campuses were dead as Abe Lincoln. BC is just the right size.
It is definitely my favorite Campus…
Thank you @bbfan1927 as that helps. I have been to the campus before (my older D got into BC’s M.Ed program and we loved it when we toured, though she ultimately ended up at Brandeis b/c the financial aid package was better). I think my younger daughter would do really well there–she wants to major in Chemistry and the science faculty we met on Accepted Student Day in January were so enthusiastic and genuine. Honestly, I wanted to go back to school and take the Bio Professor’s class and I majored in English at the undergraduate level. LOL!!
@JWU1964 my D did Eagle for a Day and I would highly recommend it. She sat in on 2 classes, ate lunch in Mac with another EFAD kid and their hosts and got a feel for the school on a normal day.
@JWU1964 , my son attended Eagle for a day last year after attending the admitted student day. Although he ultimately chose to attend a small LAC, the Eagle for a day experience made his decision much more difficult. He really enjoyed his day on campus and even attended a 300 person Econ class that he felt did not seem a large as it was. He had lunch on campus, visited a dorm room and had a very positive experience. Like your daughter, my son applied to schools much smaller than BC and the Eagle for a Day program helped him sort through the size difference. I highly recommend it. Congratulations to your daughter, BC is a great school. As I am a graduate, I was a little disappointed that BC was not my son’s final choice, but he is very happy at his LAC so it all works out!
