I’d love to hear how Eagle Day went. I was going to go but chickened out at the last minute because of the weather forcast (I had a scheduled flight out on Monday and was afraid I would get stuck). My daughter (the admitted student) went without me and thoroughly enjoyed it! She got back to Texas a day late (on Tuesday) because her flight was cancelled. She has been so busy since she got back that I’ve had few details. Anyone care to share?
It was a nice day! The speeches were not too long and the individual sessions we attended were good and helpful, especially the one on student/res life. The Admission staff also seemed more friendly than I have experienced in the past. We found it enlightening to see how far the dorms on upper campus are from middle campus (up a HUGE hill). My D thought she wanted to live on Upper, but she changed her mind. Newton Campus really felt like a community. I had been having trouble feeling connected to BC and the Admitted Eagle Day helped (though I expect BC will still remain the most expensive school D gets into (by quite a bit), so that will have some impact on her decision).
My husband and daughter flew up for the weekend and did have to stay an extra night and rebook their return flight for Tuesday. However, all the snow didn’t dampen her experience on campus. They both reported a great day and BC has risen to the top of her list which includes a number of wonderful schools and scholarships. This is the only school of the ones she is considering that I have not been able to visit with her and that makes me a little sad, but I was on campus once in the 1980’s so I have a little memory of it and know the area well since I lived in Boston for nine years. The financial bottom line will have an impact on her decision as well.
Do they offer these days for admitted students RD? (Not that we have heard yet. I just like to plan ahead). It would, obviously, have to be held in April. Allready have 2 of my D’s colleges holding Open Houses on April 11th. Hoping that my D’s other colleges will be a little more spread out so we can attened.
Thank you 3rdXsTheCharm and 2CarolinaGirls for your reports.
BC does offer admitted students day RD, but I’m not sure of the date.
Admitted Eagle Days for students admitted via RD will be 4/12 and 4/19.
@gobosox Thank you!!
