Accepted to Holderness?

I have just been accepted to Holderness School. Before applying I am aware that the different sites have said it has “specialized programs for specific types of special education students with specific learning disabilities”.

Now, I am wondering if this means that
the school has a separate program for the special students, or
if generally in the classes, teachers will act differently because of the different students with disabilities

Thanks in advance

I honestly don’t have an answer to your question, but WOW, what a beautiful school it is!!! We drive by it at least twice a week when we go up to Loon Mountain for skiing, and the campus is breath-taking! And so close to skiing, too!!!

Yeah, I have a good family friend who attends there. He loves it, but says it’s a little too small.

I am a current student at Holderness. There are no special education programs at Holderness so I am not sure where you heard this. You may be confusing it with Special Programs, which are a core part of Holderness School, but have no relationship with students with disabilities.

Each year at Holderness has a special program. Freshman year it is a week of service. The Freshman class travels to Philadelphia and conducts a week long service program. Sophomore year it is Artward bound, I think. Junior year is the amazing two weeks of Outback. The juniors hike in the White Mountains then must spend several days on their own. It gives them time to reflect and are required to write a letter to themselves that they read two years later. Senior year is the thesis project. Every senior is required to write a senior thesis and present it to the school. Holderness does not provide support for special needs but New Hampton school in NH does have learning support programs.
