Here are a few questions I have regarding the topic. Thank you.
Is it possible to call the office and request for a change?
How is/long is the process?
What are my chances of changing?
Have any of you guys done it?
Assuming you asked for them to review your app for main first with the branch as a backup, it was essentially a no from main campus for whatever major you chose. If you wanted to switch to a major with easier admissions or from fall session to summer, that might have an impact – though it’s late in the year and main campus might just be full.
And I don’t think it’s like an automatic switch, it would be like applying again. So if your stats are not competitive even for the new major or summer session, they won’t say yes to main campus. Make sure you can keep your spot at the branch campus just in case.
Edit: wording
From reading posts from others who were in a similar situation as you, your application will go “under review” again, which can take weeks before a decision is made.
Will they look at my second semester grades?
No.
The only difference is if you ask for a less competitive major AND summer session, at this point.
So, for example, Biorenewable systems, Earth and mineral science undecided, Geography BS, Recreation, park and management, anthropology, global studies…
When are your stats and what did you apply for before?
Hi. How/when/can you change back to your originally desired major after, presumably, getting accepted under the less competive major?
Good luck with the application!
I’m in a similar situation. I applied for Political Science at UP + Summer and got denied. A few people have told me to call them and ask to apply for an easier major (African American Studies, Geography, etc.) thoughts?
