Well as soon as I was accepted I payed for the $25 housing application and thats it. I heard people saying that I needed to pay the $200 deposit by March 1st If I was planning to go. I have yet to pay the deposit, I'm I toast?

I believe you can still turn in the 200 deposit. However, you have lost your “spot” in line and will probably get a very bad housing number and therefore a very bad dorm :(.

I’m paying the deposit this wednesday. What is your definition of a “bad” dorm?

^A room of two but with 3 people in it. Or an un-airconditioned room, which is not that bad since you can buy your own portable one. Or you may just not get housing at all :|.

bad dorm is exactly what iSenior said… they are called “late tripples” so you get stuck in a room that is barely big enough for two people, but has to fit three. OR you could get stuck with one without air conditioning. I’m not sure if it is true about the no housing ordeal but its very likely. I would highly recommend finding a roomate for fall term so you can go by their housing number. thats what Im doing unfortunately by summer, you must go by your own housing number :(

Are you starting in the Summer, cane?

Can late people just reject the crappy rooms UF offers?

Im on waitlist for summer but im not doing on campus housing for summer (if i get in) because I will get horrible housing. I got in to the fall but I wanted to start earlier.

Good news to anyone that applied late!! Got off the phone with Housing, they said that they extended the March 1st deadline to April 5th. Those that applied late still have their place in line if they paid up by April 5th!

"Your credit card transaction did not go through. Please try again tomorrow. "

well, wow this sucks. i didn’t even put anything in! and it gives me this… wow i got excited knowing i could do it right now.

Damn…that sucks man, personally to me, it’s not even worth it being a late applicant. I’d rather take the loss and go off campus then stay in as a late applicant

But that’s my opinion though, good luck to ya man

just find a roommate with a better housing number and you are set

Actually, when you specify a roommate, housing is determined by the latest priority date between the two of you.

@fsutimes this has changed. for summer that is the case, but not for fall. Now you can pick your own room not just based on preferences.

Thanks, UMcane. That’s good to know.
