So I got my housing email, but I'm a little confused. If I am reading correctly I will have to submit my $400(summer and fall) deposit by february 28th I believe. I have not committed to UF yet and don't plan on until I hear from other colleges on April 1. That being said I'm guessing if I don't chose to go to UF I will lose that $400 plus be charged an additional fee. Is all the previous true? Is the deposit due by the 28th or just my selections, ect...? And if the deposit is due is it worth risking all that money so if I do end up going to UF I'm not stuck with a dorm with no air conditioning, bad layout, ect. ? Any and all help related to housing would be much appreciated

Yes. If you wish to attend UF and Live in the dormitories you must pay by February 28th.

You will not be making any selections til around April/May

Yes. You will lose all or some of the money.

That being said… If you really want to go, pay the money.
If you are unsure Don’t. Just know if you change your mind at the last minute, you probably won’t get any housing. They severely overbooked this past year to the point they put students in off campus apartments at the “On-campus” price.
