Contacted Admissions today. The woman told me that there were 1362 applicants for the biomedical engineering major, but there is only space for 62!

Curious as to the plans of those accepted/waitlisted. My son was waitlisted and plans to attend if he gets accepted in May.

Did she say how many they accepted in order to yield 62?

I didn’t think to ask that question until after I was off the phone.

Waitlisted here.

I’ve decided to attend either UCSD for biomedical engineering or Harvey Mudd for general engineering.

Good luck to those of you who were waitlisted who are still trying to get a spot!

^^ Wow, that is amazing. Are you saying that you were accepted to Harvey Mudd and waitlisted for Cal Poly?

If they have to accept more applicants to yield a certain amount per major, why is there a waitlist too. Just wondering…

^^My guess is that it’s their safety to ensure those spots are filled. It’s probably unlikely they will need to pull from it, but you never know.
