Has anyone heard back from the Biomed Engineering Major?
I’m a Cal Poly Alumni and my sibling applied in this major and has not heard back yet. I’m wondering if this major has not released admissions yet, has anyone been admitted?

Yes, there were admissions to BME about a week ago based on a couple responses on the Official thread. My D and one of her friends have not been notified either, and they have very high stats. It’s pretty crazy!!
@ucladeb I’ve been doing some research into their program and it looks like it’s potentially one of the hardest engineering programs to get into at Poly because it is so small. Seems discouraging for those who have high scores and are not hearing back. I know my sibling just wants to know either way, the stress of not knowing is the worst part! Good luck! We are still keeping our fingers crossed over here.
Someone posted on another blog that last year there were over 1700 applications for BME and only 75 were accepted.
My friend got in today.
Biomedical engineering
Transfer from CC
in state
GPA 4.0
I got in for BME today!
“Congratulations! You are receiving this message because you are being offered conditional admission to Cal Poly for the 2015 Fall Quarter to the Biomedical Engineering major in the College of Architecture & Environmental Design.”
I’m confused why it’s in the College of Architecture & Environmental Design though… Also, my admission is conditional but I couldn’t find any conditions.
Thanks socalmom23!
I read the link you provided. It came with my admission email but everything listed seems to be requirements I would accept if I were accepted anywhere… If that’s all conditional admission is, I consider myself admitted,
Siroucity - You definitely are admitted! Well done!
@Siroucity congratulations! What were your stats? Still crossingg my fingers for bme as well
@Siroucity congrats! Yes, you’re admitted! The conditional just means that you have to maintain C’s and not do anything stupid to not graduate! Glad to know they are still accepting! What were your stats?
Thanks! I’m shocked I got in!
I’m a transfer from a CC in-state. My GPA is 3.49 which is pretty low but I have an upward trend of about 3.95ish the last two years with all the calc, phys, ochem, etc. I had a 2.60 GPA two years ago so I’m very pleased! I think my upward trend is what got me in.
Good luck!

I called the admissions office a week ago. 1903 people applied for 80 seats
