Accepted without an interview?

Do many people get in without ever having an interview? I mailed mine in last week (arrived Monday), and I didn't get asked for an interview. Now I'm sort of worried :-/

i don't know how many get offered interviews, but there's a good-sized number of people each year who are not interviewed and are accepted; i'm one...

Interview won't be the reason you get accepted/rejected

I submitted my application over 2 weeks ago and still have not been contacted for an interview, but kids from my school who submitted their app 10 days after me have already scheduled one ahhhh

i didn't get one and i got in. i think i read somewhere that only about half the applicants get interviewed.

My school sent 10 students to Penn my year. Two people, including myself, were ED and the other ED person was the only of us 10 to get interviewed. They met at a cafe in downtown Philly.

As the other posts indicate, interviews mean very little. Whether you get one or not, what the interview goes like - both have very little impact either way. So why do they do them? More to give the alumni something to do than anything else. Alumni who are "invested" with their time are more likely to "invest" with their checkbooks too.

The also offer all children of legacies interviews for the same reason as above.

yea I agree. A regional rep told me that 'interviews have no bearing whatsoever on the admission process'.
