Grats all! I hope to see you all there!
I know I'm getting excited. I'm just trying to figure out what more I should be doing to prepare for beast.

Push-ups, flutter-kicks, and running...

P.S. Enjoy civilian life, while it lasts!

My son just received his appointment in today's mail. He had a Presidential nomination. :) :)

Great American,

Congratulations to both you and more importantly, to your son!

When we got home today there was a Fedex package at the door. Sara recieved an appointment to West Point for the class of 2011. We are still waiting for USAFA and USNA. We hope USAFA will come through next month with a late Christmas present.

ds,

Congrats to your daughter! It's still early so she must be a very strong candidate. You have every reason to be so proud of her.

Grats DS! If she wants, I can add her to my AIM buddy list of 2011 USMA candidates. I'm hoping I'll have a big enough list that maybe we can all meet up before we go to West Point to make the transitition a little more comfortable! My SN is spree2020 (my internet is always on - just IM me!)

Mike

If I did not receive a nomination, do i still have chance of getting into the prep program?

Yes the two things are mutually exclusive.

Hey,

I just found out that my LOA is in the mail and I should be getting it shortly. I will be playing softball next year for ARMY. Im soooo excited. Its like all my hard work is finally paying off. This is everything I could have hoped for. I would love ot talk to some of you guys that will make up the USMA class of 2011. I dont have a screen name or anything right now, but ill get one soon. What provider do you guys use. MSN, Yahoo? Also I was wondering if there was a way I could go ahead and get a copy of all the stuff we are expected to learn during BEAST.

Thanks a lot guys,

Kels

Hey everyone! I got my binder on Saturday after getting a very fulfilling phone call from my congressman the day before that. I'd love to talk to future c/o 11's as well, feel free to pm me for my real email (CC has my really old one that I never use), or use my sn:

Oh, k_sarge4, here's a link to an online copy of bugle notes:

I think someone back on page 2 gave out the same page actually. Great minds think alike.

OK thanks a lot ill check it out

Dang! So do you really haev to know all of that stuff or jsut certain things?

Back on page 2, yoyo24 said: "I'd focus on learning early (because they are long) The Corp, the Star spangled banner, THE CODE OF CONDUCT, schofields, worth's, etc."

Yoyo also mentioned that you don't need to memorize most of the traditions.

I recieved an LOA a few days ago that essentially said as soon as I complete my file I would be offered an official appt. I was wondering about how long will it take them to issue the appt after my file is complete?

I finally received my offer of appointment. I think it took me about 30 seconds to fill out the card and send it back in. I'm soooooooooooooo pumped!!!

Congratulations, k_sarge!

I got my binder in the mail today!! I can’t believe that it is finally over, this whole admissions process that I started about a year ago. I spent about five minutes bawling my eyes out in the car. This black binder is not an LOA; it is the actual offer of appointment, correct? I will see ya’ll on R-Day HOOAH!! Oh, and of course West Point rewards you by including more paperwork. You gotta love the United States Army.
