So I got my fat envelope today...anyone else?? :-) Anyone planning to go to UR?!

still waiting for the mail to come... it should be here within the hour

Fat envelope? The acceptance letters came in very thin fedex letter envelopes

Um actually...they didn't!! :) Apparently yours did but I got a huge envelop and folder of all this info about the school, and visiting, etc...in fact the folder was really weird and I couldn't figure out how to open it. Anyway, it's definitely plausible that different people received different things...maybe people who live further away will get the fat envelope at a later date, or maybe they only sent those to ppl who lived closer cus they are cheap on postage. I'm not sure what your point was...just because you didn't get a fat envelope doesn't mean no one did. :)

I actually got in Early decision.
I thought the thick envelope is odd because that would mean you have more information about next year than us early decision people... no fair! :(

Haha, I'll mail it to you if u can handle it being a lil mangled!! :) I'm sure everyone will be getting them within the next few days

What kind of info came with the package and all?
Do they also mention the number of people applied/accepted?

There's like a LOTT of info...the folder has a packet about: open campus, academic opportunities, visiting campus, career exploration, the transition to college, department specific info/contacts, the academic calendar, and what's next?...if you wanna know about any of those or u don't get the envelope, I'll scan them for u!!! Anddd it says in the letter that they received more than ten applications for ever spot in the frosh class. It also says to visit this website: http://www.rochester.edu/2009/ so maybe you'll find some info there!!!!!! Anyway, if u come to visit or something let me know, I'll teach u how to party roc style :p

Does it say anything about April open house or anything with April visiting?

Yeah, there's "open campus": April 4th-16th you can visit on a weekday to visit classes, dorm rooms, have lunch, talk to professors/students, tour rochester, etc. Saturday April 9th and April 16th there is the same thing, but you can't sit in on classes...there's also like a lil reception thing on all those days. Also, you can stay overnight, but "space is limited"...then it says on the other thing that if you can't attend one of these events they'd still like to have you visit. You also have to register for all this stuff through the admissions office!

Is merit aid included in this letter/package?

do you see anything on your status page?

and CONGRATS to all acceptees!!!:D

No, it doesn't say anything besides application complete...the same thing it's said since January...YEAH congrats EVERYONE :D

Oh, and there isn't any financial stuff in my package...no merit aid stuff either which might mean I didn't get any but I don't think so cus I already know I got a merit scholarship...I think it comes separately

It comes seperately...

Good to know, I thought maybe they took away mine when they saw my grades from this year!! Haha...it seems like EVERYONE gets merit aid for there!!!!

Maybe not ED people tho? Cus they already have them "locked" in?

ED people already have had theirs for the past couple of months
I actually got upgraded from a package of about 14,000 to 22k

Nicccccccceeee! They are really generous w/money. ESP. with rochester people, they have been like throwing money at my friends and I...my parents REALLY want me to go there now! LOL

I got accepted too, RD. The letter just came today!
