No financial aid though...guess who's NOT going there?!

Same with my daughter. But I might call and tell them that she received great aid from another school with a great theater program. But it is good to be accepted.

Congratulations to you both! I haven't heard yet but if I get in I think I'm going to go.

YAY! I got mine today. Honors Program n' all! WAHOO! =)

Congratulations!!!! Could those of you who got accepted post your stats and major? I'm going to apply next year and I want to get an idea of what they are looking for.

Marketing communications

1220 (620m, 600v); 3.97w, 3.4uw; 6 AP classes, all honors otherwise; great ECs; submitted video advertisement

UW GPA was poor mainly to math so they probably overlooked it.

accepted also -- marketing communications

Question.. how do you know what major your acceptance is for? My packet didn't say anything about it.. unless I totally overlooked it.. do I get what I applied for?

Stats: SAT: 1400, GPA: 3.9w, 7 AP classes, Pretty good EC's, essay and rec, I think.

Someone I know was accepted but not to their major. Needless to say she's not going. Happened to people last year too. I wonder why they think you would pay all that money and not want to study your first choice. I'm visiting in April and that is something I will bring up with the admissions rep. Keep us posted!

Congratulations to all Emerson acceptees. My daughter just graduated in December from Emerson and has landed a job in television production. She is very happy. A word of advice: take full advantage of every extra-curricular opportunity at Emerson that is pertinent to your field. And if possible, do at least one internship. Daughter did eight credit hours of internship....four credits at two different placements (suggested by her advisor, who was excellent and got to know her very well.) Her internships included one with an investigative team at a major television studio and the other at PBS's Antique Roadshow. She gained a great deal of experience. Best wishes to all in your pursuit of communications majors.

ACTUALLY DOING THIS FOR A FRIEND - for a communications major, is she better off at emerson or NYU

NYU is a great school but I don't think their communications major is the strongest. Emerson is known for everything related to communications.

Woot Woot! Theater Education Baby! Anyone else out there?

My dd was accepted EA to the Marketing Communications program. SAT 1680; GPA 3.5 (mostly honors classes). She attends a small private school in NH.

D was accepted EA into Print Journalism. SAT 1670; GPA 3.4 (all honors/AP classes). Large, urban public HS in MA. Lots of EC and CS activities; part-time job and writes for two newspapers - submitted a portfolio of clippings. Unfortunately, won't be attending due to a very disappointing FA package, but was thrilled to be accepted. Very happy with her chosen school (although 3 hours further away), which is not a problem for her - LOL! Good luck to everyone!

Accepted Broadcast journalism...anyone else?
