Electrical Engineering, and you?

Also, are you from New York? (Or do you just love it, like me? :p)

Accounting.
And I live in NJ like 20 minutes from the nyc (: The best city in the world! Are you from Philly?

No. I live in Northeast PA, but I was born in New York. Suffolk County, Long Island, to be more exact. I’ve been to NYC a million times though and I absolutely love it.
It would be great if I could move there one day…

Hey! I was accepted this week, 3.4 GPA and 1870 SAT. Do you find out if you get a scholarship online or is that in the mail?

Shannonm525: I got my scholarship info in the mail along with my acceptance letter!

sophistry: I also want to live in NYC when i get older!

For those who are definitely/most likely attending: how long are you waiting to pay your deposit?

^^Great, maybe we’ll be neighborhood or borough neighbors! :p

^I have to see the school (I’m going Feb 26) and get my financial aid package first.
If everything’s all good, then I’ll immediately be depositing as soon as possible. Want to get good housing. Anyone know what residence hall buildings they want or like the best?

Does anyone know when Temple starts to send out aid packages?

I’m debating between 1300 and Johnson & Hardwick. I’m leaning towards 1300 because that’s where most of the honors kids live and it’s newer/nicer, but I still kind of want the typical college dorm feel that J&H has rather than the suites at 1300. I’ll most likely end up at 1300 though.

Yeah, I like J&H the best. I kind of always wanted the typical high-rise, double room, communal bathroom type dorm for the first year. Then I’ll try and get a suite or apartment for sophomore year. Temple Towers seems pretty nice. @_@ Or is that just for juniors and seniors? Do they even live on campus? Sometimes I wish Temple had more housing… I know eventually I’ll have to move off campus. The lack of housing is the only thing I don’t like about Temple. All the other good stuff outweighs that though.

I think Temple Towers is just for upperclassmen. My friend lives in 1300 this year and she loves it. Her floor is really close with one another and they all just leave the doors to their suites open pretty much all the time. So I guess it’s not that hard to have a “typical” experience in 1300, but you just have to get lucky with the right people. Plus another one of my friends is most likely going to be living in 1300 too (but we’re not rooming together), so if she’s on a different floor I’ll get to meet them all as well.

Oh that sounds nice. Is 1300 just for honors students? Do only freshmen live there?

I’m not sure if anyone other than honors can live there. There’s a few floors of freshman, and there’s some apartment-style floors for sophomores.

I see. Well have fun there. :stuck_out_tongue: It seems really nice. Too bad I’m not in honors. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ll probably end up in J&H if there’s room left after I deposit (there better be lol -_-)
A lot of freshmen live there, right? It seems like it’s a very social dorm, which is good, because sometimes I have a hard time making friends lol.

Temple seems to have a lot of interesting clubs too, so I’m gonna join a few. Maybe an intramural sport. I really want to get involved and also have more friends than the amount I have now, which is like 2. xD

Yeah, I’m pretty sure J&H is mostly (if not all) freshmen.

J&h is only freshman, 1300 is not only honors, temple towers is only for sophomores and juniors and seniors have to move off campus

Oh wow. That’s very helpful.
Do you go to Temple?

i just found out today. I applied december 15th.
I got accepted into the College Of engineering: Mechanical Engineering.
SAT: 1740, M: 610, CR: 540, W: 590
16 honors and AP classes in high school.
UGPA: 3.75, WGPA: 4.4
135 hours community service
****ty essay.
No Letters Of Recommendation.
No hook: middle class white kid.

Congrats! Do you think you’ll be attending? I also got accepted into engineering btw. :D

lol thanks. and it all really depends on if i get accepted to penn state or not. If not, then I am most likely going to Temple. A few of my friends from my school are going to temple so it would be cool to go there. Plus one of my best friends also got into the mechanical engineering program. So many decisions. :D

i applied november 16th and i still haven’t heard anything back it just says my application is “complete and ready for review” but i’m really nervous! for those who got accepted, how long did your decision take…i was hoping to hear back this week.
