My friend said that the sooner you accept your admission to UCLA, the higher priority you'll get in choosing your classes come next year. I don't think I've heard this before. Is this true?

No it's not true. If you're an incoming freshman or transfer student, you'll go through the process like everyone else. You register for your fall quarter classes when you attend your orientation session. If you aren't going to attend an orientation session, then ucla will give you a specific time of when to enroll for your classes. Hope this helps.

yes, you register for classes at orientation. with that said, try your best to get into one of the first couple orientation sessions. classes fill up FAST...especially if you're going to need a high demand class like Eng Comp 3

not true. priority for choosing classes for your first quarter depends on which orientation you attend (the earlier the better!) because you sign up during orientation.

what about housing? do you get priority the earlier you reply?

cjdoor: No, you don't get priority for housing the sooner you accept your admissions. Housing times are part of a random lottery, where priority goes first to recruited sports atheletes and those who work for housing (but housing workers MUST sign up on the priority list, which some forget to do so they don't get priority), and then it goes by year in school. The housing sign up process for next year is already in progress for current students, and whatever rooms are left over are given to the first years.
