Accepting decisions

I have been accepted to a university which gives out on campus housing contracts based off when you accept their offer. So the sooner I accept the better housing options I will have. However I am still waiting to hear back from a few other universities. Do you thing accepting my admissions offer will alter my admissions chances at other universities?

@hyp201 if you accept your admission officer to this particular university I believe that you cannot accept the other admission offers made by other schools. This could be very bad for you. You should ask your guidance counselor at your high school.

I disagree with @acron611

You CAN change your mind about where you attend college (happens all the time ex. when students take a place off a waiting list). – you just can’t have two deposits in at the same time . So, if you are willing to lose your deposit, you can accept the offer from that school and then if you decide to go elsewhere you must inform them that you will not be attending (I would do it in writing so you have a record) and then you are free to deposit on the preferred school.

Certainly you can check with your guidance counselor, but that is my understanding of the rules.

…nvm, sorry no time to post!
