I have decided to attend UIUC recently. However, i was told by a counselor in admission office that the event of dropping AP BIOLOGY for the 2nd semester of senior year may affect my final decision after i accepted the offer of UIUC College of Business. They also told me that they have to decide whether i will be denied permission to enter UIUC or not after reveiwing my final high school transcript in June. Moreover, they said that I had to subsititute another AP level class in order to drop AP Biology.
In addition, i was admitted to UCI, should i submit the SIR form for UCI just in case that i will be denied in June by UIUC?

First and foremost don’t drop AP Bio! If you are struggling in the class or having a bad case of senioritis, just tell yourself that school is over in less than 2 months and that the AP tests are in just a few more weeks. AP Bio is a pretty “major” AP curriculum and UofI will definitely take note of your application if you drop it. However, if you do feel that you NEED to drop the course, I HIGHLY recommend that you have your counselor email the admissions office. Your counselor NEEDS to tell them that you need to drop this class for “___” reasons. My friend dropped AP Spanish 2nd semester of his senior year and his acceptance was not revoked because his counselor had emailed them. As for me, I dropped French 4 2nd semester this year and had my counselor email them and I am now good to go. Hope this helped

sigh, But i already dropped the class in Feb, and emailed them right away… and i got an email said this:
In response to the Course Change Request that you submitted. Your admission is, in part, based on your senior year schedule. Therefore, we will only approve drops in your schedule for medical reasons or extenuating circumstances. You can change your schedule, but the change must be to a comparable level course, e.g. AP for AP, honors for honors, etc.

When we review final transcripts in the summer, we check final grades as well as schedule changes. An unauthorized schedule change or extreme drop in grades could jeopardize your admission to Illinois.

WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?? ASK MY SCHOOL COUNSELOR TO WRITE A LETTER?

btw, what did your counselor say about the reasons for dropping the class?

I am a transfer student. And i also drop a course, and submit online 4 weeks ago, and they still have no response, they said the decision has to go though the admission committee to decide
