<p>My suggestion is that there is no need to “Cancel” it unless the teacher put information that was specific to a school or program other than Harvard. Otherwise if you try to contact Admissions, you run into the risk of them thinking you are trying to hide something. It is not that big of a deal. Sure they won’t appreciate the additional rec but if it was truly a mistake on your part and not on purpose, I don’t think you should contact them to “cancel” a recommendation cause it just looks wierd in my opinion. Unless obviously, you feel strongly about it.</p>

<p>I originally used a sophomore teacher as recommender, but I heard it is better to have a junior or senior teacher as recommender. So I told my school to exchange the sophomore teacher recommendation to the senior teacher recommendation. However, the school upload the 3rd one without get ride of the 2nd one and the common app automatically grab all three letters when I applied use common app. That is why this happened.</p>
