Hey,
I am a student in Australia looking to go on exchange at the beginning of 2012 for six months. I was looking at UT and it looks like a pretty cool university with lots to do. In Australia I lived in a college for two years, what we call a "college" over here is what I guess you would call a dorm. They are essentially student living with about three-hundred people at each, my Uni had ten colleges on campus.

Basically college for Australian students has a huge party scene, there are rules that we have to follow of course, but essentially everyone is allowed to drink in their rooms, we can have parties in their rooms and the colleges organize big parties for the students nearly every weekend, like toga parties etc.

I loved my college years and I hope have some equally awesome experiences and partying while in the states. Basically I just wanted to get some information about the dorms, accommodation, student living etc that UT has to offer as I currently have no idea whats on offer.

Also just a few points I was wondering about.
- Can you drink in the dorms, i will be twenty-one in March but i understand a lot of people are under age.
- What alternative living arrangements are there around campus, eg student houses?
- Whats the party scene like at UT, and can you still have a good time if your underage?
- Ive always been intrigued by the fraternities, I will probably only be in the states from december to june but what is the whole 'deal' with frats, coming from Australia, I really have no idea.

Also any info or personal experiences would be great.
Thanks guys.
