In my position at this moment, freshman studying accounting, would a double major in finance or a concentration in something such as fraud examination make me more marketable when I leave for the working world? I'm interested in both finance and fraud examination but can really only choose one. The double major would actually require less credits than the concentration in fraud examination, I would be able to fit either one but only one in my schedule.
Also, are there any other tips you have in general for pursuing my career?

Thank You!

From all I have read, there is a growing demand for forensic accountants. With that in mind, I would go for fraud examination. I also admit that I enjoy searching for answers. Also, I believe that accountants can do many of the jobs finance majors can do.

I hated finance in college so I am biased. I think fraud examination fantastic. You use such skills in both audit and advisory practices. Finance is slightly more useful for the CPA exam though since there are some bits that are covered in the BEC portion if you are planning to go into public accounting. Either one would be good though.
