Accounting & Finance At Warwick VS Finance At Indiana (Kelley School Of Business)

Hello! I am an international student who wants to pursue a career in IB, or similar finance-related fields. I have narrowed down my university choices to two: Warwick (Accounting and Finance) and Indiana Kelley (Finance). Which school would you guys recommend in terms of job prospect? Thank you!

Which of these will get you a job in you country after you graduate? If you don’t know about that yet, start talking with employers there now.

Why have you narrowed your selection to two schools ( and trying to get to one). Do you actually have acceptances in hand for both schools or are you applying in fall?

I have been accepted to both schools

I would want to stay in a country where I graduate, which is the reason why I am curious how these two schools compare in terms of job prospect in their country.

At the present time, international students who are studying here with an F1 visa, can remain for 12 months more for Optional Practical Training (OPT) if they can find an employer that will hire them for that period. Many students are not successful in finding employers for OPT, and must leave the country after they graduate. Of the students who do find an OPT sponsor, most are unsuccessful at geting an H1B (work) visa when the OPT expires, and so must leave the country then. The only instances I have ever heard of in which someone managed to transition to an H1B with only an undergraduate degree, were computer scientists and engineers.

If you want out of your country for the long-term, look at universities in Canada. Canada has much friendlier immigration policies for graduates of universities there.

The US and the UK both have prominent financial centers. Warwick perhaps has a stronger pull with IBanks in London than Kelly does with IBanks on Wall Street, but that is by no means a certainty.

Kelley kids in the IB workshop place well in to IB (though that may be Chicago instead of NYC) but Warwick is one of the top feeders in to the City (Kelley definitely not to the Street). However, staying on in the US right after undergrad may be tough.
