Hi, i'm a recent high school grad planning on attending A&M next year and going into Mays.

Just looking at the catalog, it seems like fin/acct double major could be done relatively easy comparative to some other colleges.

Has anyone done this? If so, just some info on the workload and stress levels would be nice. I'm just curious.

Also, how prestigious are the acct/fin programs comparative to other colleges?

Thanks for the help

Hey I know what you mean, Im going into this too, but I found out that Mays doesnt allow you to double major unless you do Business Honors as one of those majors… I know its stupid, but thats their rule.

That is kinda lame…

You think the Business Honors is worth it?

Yea BH is probably worth it. Last year they had 100% job placement vs 80% job placement for everyone else, but if your a good student youll probably get a good job anyways so it just depends if you get in. BH is the only honors program that you have to apply for at a&m. Like you either have to have a high SAT score as an entering freshman or a 3.67 gpa after your 1st semester, but not everyone who qualifies even gets in

Yes, you can not do a double major of acct/fin at A&M.

but if you do either acct or fin…take extra courses in the other. esp. if you do finance. some finance jobs will require 12-15 of accounting. all the extra hours might be enough to find accounting jobs if you can’t find a finance job. the more hours in both even with the double major would be beneficial.
