Hey guys, I'm a sophomore attending SUNY Stony Brook studying accounting and finance and will graduate in 2012 with BS in Accounting and in 2013 with MS in Accounting or Finance. I've been searching for internships but my resume isn't as nice as other candidates'. I applied for internships with the Big Four, a few mid-sized accounting firms, and Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. My GPA isn't that high so I'm not too hopeful of getting anything, but what other options are available for me? I want to be productive this summer in getting experience for a future career in the financial industry. I live in NYC. Thanks

you can always work at smaller firms and gain similar work experiences. A lot of the bigs have set standards and if you do not meet their GPA criteria, you won’t get an interview. Take advantage of your career center at stony and use their alumni networks
