I have completed a BS degree in Finance in 2008 with limited exposure to accounting other than the two basic courses needed to get into the business school, but now looking forward, I would like to go back to school and work towards an accounting degree / CPA.

It's my understanding that to sit for the CPA I could probably fit the requirements by completing a certificate. However, I'm also interested in working for the IRS in the future and it seems that a MS in accounting would be more beneficial in that regard.

Do you have any suggestions as to what might be a good MS Accounting program as most of them require accounting experience to get in? I had a decent undergrad gpa of 3.13 but did not do well in basic accounting courses the first time around.
