I'm a Undergraduate International student enrolled in RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology),
Which one is a better school to transfer for Accounting major (business) student.
which of these schools have better job placement rates. I know that Binghamton has high rankings, in addition, Binghamton is located in the middle of nowhere, so no good internships there.
where do the big accounting firms, especially for international students.
which University have more opportunities including a great possibility of getting a job post graduation. Is it really worth to go to SUNY Binghamton or CUNY Baruch or should i stay in RIT.
which is great at recruitment. I just want to know if any one of the schools will actually make a difference in getting employment.

Getting into the Big 4 as a 1st year needing H1B support is a major uphill battle but still doable. You’ll need to absolutely max out your GPA and be able to communicate in fantastic English while still being personable. Some years are tougher than others.

From a quick google search it seems like a lot of regional, lower tier firms recruit from all 3 so I’d honestly go to whatevers cheapest.

Find out from each of the schools which accounting firms recruited on campus. Note: You do not want to know where grads got jobs. You want to know which firms came to campus. That shows the firm is interested in grads from the school.

thanks everyone for your replies. I don’t want to leave RIT, i am just considering it. RIT is a tech school with more focus on engineering students and i beleive that there are few opportunities for accounting students.
however, i have heard from people that CUNY Baruch is a great accounting school where the major accounting firms, the Big 4, recruites students.

If money is going to be an issue I would definitely recommend Baruch -provided that you have somewhere to live inexpensively in NYC.

The challenge is that as an OOS/OOS student (you are currently in Dubai) tuition at CUNY is ~ 16k + living expenses.

COA at Bing as an OOS is ~31.5/year not including travel.

COA at RIT ~ 46K/year not including travel

Are any of these options financially feasible for you/your family?

At least this way if you can get internship experience, you can possibly work an internship here in NYC, where the firms are while attending school (doing your internship in the day and attending late afternoon/evening classes).

If money or housing is an issue then I would recommend either staying at RIT (especially if they are giving you good financial aid).

RIT is a co-op school. Some, if not all, Big 4 firms are co-op partners, along with plenty of other firms. You should be graduating with a year of work experience, making you very employable.

If you still feel the need to transfer, Binghamton is the best choice. As the best SUNY school, their grads are heavily recruited by all industries.
