Accounting: Transferring to UPenn from UF?

I was accepted to the Naval Academy, attended there and realized I really disliked the military. However I did like and enjoy the prestige of being there. I am attending UF now majoring in accounting almost done with my freshman year. I have recently been interested in possibly applying to transfer to an Ivy League, specifically UPenn (I applied to Penn State as well originally and was accepted), as I enjoy Pennsylvania and the campus looks great. As an accounting major would it really be worth it to switch? It seems as though Big 4 recruits from Florida a great deal regardless. I love it here, but I would like the prestige of attending an Ivy League school and knowing how far I can take myself. I'm fairly settled here, likely applying for a scholars program, pledging next semester, and probably getting a job. But still if I didn't apply and try to get in I'd always have that nagging regret in the back of my mind.

Thanks for any help, it's appreciated.

Anyone have input? :C

don’t think accounting much matters, go somewhere where you can be the top student in your dept and get a good GMAT score…FWIW I have a friend that went to South Carolina and had masters programs at Texas, UNC, & U-Chicago fighting over her. All are top 10 programs from what she said…she ended up with a full ride…has a big 4 gig lined up and had plenty of job offers to sift through.

Point is South Carolina is not known for stellar academics. I think many people that are mediocre at top schools would have an easy time getting a 3.9+ there

Alright thanks. What about majoring in finance here at UF, would accounting simply be better because I’m not at a target school? And say I was accepted to UPenn as a transfer, and majored in finance, but I didn’t want to go into IB. Is there many other options with a decent salary range?

Thanks
