ACE

I got the invitation to apply for the ACE program. I was just a little confused on the application process.

This is what they said:

“Application Process: Our application process consists of three formal video interview questions and applicants will have three attempts to record a response to each question. The whole process, including testing your equipment, should take less than 30 minutes.”

What kind of questions are they going to ask? Also, how competitive will it be to get into the program? I know that it is very rigorous, but would the invitation basically be a guarantee for a spot in the program unless you royally screw it up?
I would love to get any advice from people who applied/have gotten into the ACE program.

@preethik276 My son applied and was accepted to the ACE program last year. He didn’t have to do a video interview. There was only an application form. Might be new for this year?

If it helps, he did have to do a video interview for a different school’s honor’s business program. If it’s similar, it went like this. Log into the video portal and have unlimited practice time to get comfortable talking to a computer monitor and to review how you look after playing back your practice questions, fix lighting, etc… Then start the timed 3 question session. The questions weren’t difficult and were mainly meant to see how candidates think on their feet and how outgoing they were. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Oh, thanks! What were your son’s stats, if you don’t mind? @Quantjock

This is process is way different than when I got into ACE, but I think you still have a very good chance of getting in as long as you apply. I’ve honestly never heard of anyone who was invited and applied to ACE and not gotten in, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

For the past two years students have gotten waitlisted(not sure if any were denied) Its a misconception everyone who applies gets in. They invite the top 4% of admitted students to apply. Depending on how many students are offered DA, the number of ACE invitations could potentially be 4% of 3-4000 students. I cannot find stats on how many are DA vs how many actually accept so I am guessing on the 3-4000 students considering the actual acceptance numbers are close to 2000. That being said they only have spots for roughly 75+ students.

Are you saying there are 2000 students who receive Direct Admit letters each year? Where can someone find these stats from year to year? On average, how many of those actually enroll?
