I just recently found out i was accepted to Penn State Abington and now i'm waiting on Rutgers-New Brunswick (my first choice) i have already sent in the application and the academic record. I'm not sure if i should send in recommandations from teachers since they don't require it. I plan on majoring in Pre-med or Psychology and got my acceptance to penn state without any recommandations.
If i should send any, how many?
i was also wondering if i should apply any where else that has a high acceptance rate to top med schools.

If you think recs will be good, absolutely send them in.

If you were on the admissions committee and you were comparing two similar students to offer admission, which one would you pick ---- the one with two good recs, or the one with none?

Thanks... i was just told by a friend that they won't even look at recs and on the site it says they r not needed

Call the admissions office at Rutgers on Monday and ask them whether they use letters of recommendation. There are lots of public universities out there that do not require, and do not consider any letters that they receive. The letters go straight into the trash can.

There may be different rules for applications for scholarships or for admission to a specific program or to an honors college once you already are admitted to the university. But please, don't waste your recommenders' time by asking them to write a letter that isn't even going to be read.

Thanks so much :)
