acknowledgement of Lafayette on-line app?

DS applied online last week but has not recieved anything saying "we have received your online app" - what did others get when they applied? anything?

Spikemom,
We received a letter acknowledging the reciept and what if any materials were outstanding when D applied ED. That may take a while this time of year. I would call Admissions Office to be safe.

DD applied RD in November. She recieved a similar letter acknowledging reciept of the app. and listing outstanding materials, but never heard if they had recieved those other items.

She ended up calling Admissions yesterday to confirm reciept of all materials (likewise with William and Mary; Colby able to check on the internet; Hartwick sent follow-up letters)

On the common app site you can check if admissions downloaded your app. My S received a letter about 2 weeks after his app was downloaded listing what was still needed.

thanks for that tip joinville - oddly, only 2 out of DS's 8 schools are common app schools, so I wasn't familiar with that feature. App was downloaded the day after it was submitted, so I will assume all is well.

My S also kept up a regular communication using e-mail to keep a check on the status of his app. You can send e-mails to any of the admissions reps through the Lafayette site. Everyone there was very helpful and he even got replies directly from Director of Admissions. I don't recommend being a pest but whenever DS has a legitimate question they'll be happy to answer. Her e-mails will also show the school that her application to Laf is important to her/him.
