<p>As repeated by many others around the site, the vast majority of universities have no preference for either the SAT or ACT. However, most require that the ACT be taken with writing. The ACT and SAT are statistically similar enough that conversion charts between the two are plentiful. My guess would that be colleges use a similar chart to what you can find with a google search in order to analyze SAT and ACT scores.</p>
