I know this question was probably already answered. But if I take the ACT instead of the SAT, will colleges think im taking the easier way out? Is it accepted equally? I read on some college consultants website that it is preferred when applying to Penn?

It depends on the school you want to go to. Some schools even prefer to have the ACT rather than the SAT.

This topic has been discussed to death on CC. Do a search and you'll find plenty of relevant threads. Bottom line: there are no colleges or universities that I am aware of that have a stated preference for the ACT or the SAT. Virtually all schools will accept either. The ACT is NOT easier than the SAT, it is simply different. In 2007, upwards of 1.3 million students took the ACT --only 314 got a perfect 36 composite score.

yea i figured it out. thanks
