ACT and SAT?

Should I take both? I'm retaking the SAT I in October so should I take the ACT too? I don't think it's necessary, but I wanted to hear your opinions on it.

The ACT is unneccessary, unless you really want to take more to show that you're consistent/intelligent. I really dont think you have to, as long as you do well on the SATs.

Thank you kind sir, I'm going to do a 2 week SAT blitz now.

Necessary, no (unless you intend to apply to Brigham Young which requires the ACT). It is a matter of hedging your bets. Some do better on the ACT than the SAT and vice versa and thus if your SAT is not looking that great, you might try the ACT.

Yeah, I'd wait to decide until you see how you do on the SAT.

I'm just taking both, but I'm not sending the ACT score to any colleges until I see what it is. That way, if it's great, I can send it in to boost my app. Otherwise, they never have to know. =]

Good plan!!

So it can boost my app...dangit I just cancelled.

Too bad indeed.
