Okay so I have the ACT on the 11th and I have trouble with the reading part. Its a killer and I can never stay focused. Last time I took the ACT I made a 17. I need some tips or someone to help me get through this test on the reading part. I also need to know some tips on the English and the Math parts. English I usually do good but the ACT kick me in the rear. I know you guys probably get questions like this all the time and I'm sorry. Thanks

This might be silly but make sure to have a very big breakfast that will fill you up and to bring along snacks to eat on your break time. Hunger is one if the worst distractions.

Read the whole writing, don’t just skim through it. Underline important points and make notes if you notice something.

Math is math. That is just practice, practice, practice!

Math could you give me somethings to study? English too?? Thanks

Have you bought on ACT book? There are specific books for the ACT Math section that help. Just go to your local book store and you will definately find one.

English is really about timing. It’s 75 questions in 45 minutes so it is quiet a rush. That was my strong suit so I can’t really tell you how to improve because I didn’t study for that part. I’m sure if you buy an ACT book for the english section it will help you as well.

For this ACT you might not notice such a big difference in your score because you may have not been studying much for it but I would def. sign up for a may/June ACT and spend the next few months doing some hardcore studying using the ACT books.

For the Reading Comp section, practice looking for the main idea of each paragraph AND practice annotating the passage. Don’t get distracted by details (e.g., dates, numbers, useless facts)

For Math, figure out what types of questions you’re getting wrong and work on them in your math textbook.
