ACT Composite: 34

My first time taking it, I'm a junior.
What does this mean for my "Ivy Dreams"?
My SAT was only a 2070, nowhere near the magic 2250.

Edit: More details
English - 31
Mathematics - 33
Reading - 34
Science Reasioning - 36

Writing not available yet, won't affect my composite score anyway.
Funny thing is that I've always considered myself an English/History type, not a Math/Science type.

A 34 is fine to put you on the map at any school in the country. You’ll just need to make sure the rest of your application is that astounding. Make sure you have a backup plan, too.

Should I take it again or just be happy with what I got the first time?

If you’re a junior and you’ve only taken it once, go ahead and take it again. Most people improve their second or third times. You obviously don’t HAVE to take it again, but it would be a lie to say a 35 or 36 wouldn’t make the Ivies a bit more reachable.

I’d suggest you look at Silverturtle’s guide to the SAT in the SAT subforum. His grammar guide will help you get your 31 in English up.

Wow, a 36 on the Science Reasoning section? Lol, who the hell cares about your SAT score; you’re obviously really smart.

You have a chance now for ivy leagues with a 34.

The only thingthat has me hesitant about getting hopeful about Ivies is that I have barely any meaningful extracurriculars. I mean, I do a sport each season and have a paying job and a hospital volunteer position during the summer, but Im not exactly a school leader. I usually keep to myself and rarely have time for extracurriculars anyways if I want to maintain my 90 average in the most rigorous curriculum at a tough boarding school. I realize I’ve derailed this thread, but does leadership matter as much as they let on, or will good grades, test scores, essays, and interviews get me in?

and

As long as your application reflects those two things, you’ll be fine. Either mention it in your interviews or your essay - plus you can put the job and the summer volunteering on the application as an extracurricular.

i’m in the same boat as you, your extracurriculars seem fine though. If I were you I’d probably take the SAT again if possible, there’s no need to improve the 34

I’m taking the SAT again next Saturday, but I won’t be able to prepare for it due to AP exams. I’ll also take it fall of senior year. I still think I’ll take the ACT again because I just realized that some schools superscore the ACT, and my first try was on zero preparation.

also to clarify, I don’t have a job during the school year, that’s just during the summer as well. still, thanks for the reassurance guys.
