30 on the ACT? Do I stand a chance at admission to an ivy league or atleast a good state college? This was my first try, should I take it again? Please advice.

take again. it's always good to take it a second time, especially since the colleges don't have to see both sets of scores.

Good/decent state college, yes.

Ivy League? Hell no.

You should take the SAT I also.

how hard is it to get a 35/36? If I buy the princeton review and real act guide and study till the Sept. admin. do i stand a chance at atleat a 35?

depends.
what were your score breakdowns? how much did you study before taking it this time? and what year are you?

30 is very good. **** fusiondogg. There are plenty of Ivy League kids who even had 20s.

Eng. 33 Math 28 Science 27 Reading 31 I guessed on whole of the science part because i felt like i was going to **** myself (drank a can of red bull during the break) I got an 8 on the essay which was good cause wrote 3 sentence paragraphs. I'm a junior and I really didnt study that much. I couldn't get this girl out of my head. so what do you think?

fusiondogg is wrong. The average ACT at Cornell is a 30 and most Ivy League schools are between 32 and 34. So yes, you do have a chance at ivy league schools.

bump......

For a 14 year old is a 30 out of 36 overall

30 is a solid score! You should be very proud! Especially on your first try. Assuming you've had no prep, you could easily go a few points up, which can only help. If you don't get much higher, I wouldn't go for a 3rd ACT.

Yes, you should take it again. Especially if this is your first time and have potential to do much better.

lol .."i couldn't get this girl out of my head."

i was ready to cry in a chem test and then suddenly justin timberlake's SexyBack started playing in my head. and he refused to go away!
