ACT Confusion..

I have been studying for ACT for a while. Here is the question from 1296 PR ACT, test 1
He recorded a single (album produced by Great Sounds record)...
A> Same
B. Great Sounds Records album
C. album
The answer is c, because it's the most concise solution.

Few weeks ago, before I had done with the McGraw-Hill's 10 exams, I have countered a similar question. According to that explanation, the answer should be B because if the "Great Sounds Records" was being retracted, the sentence would lose a specific detail that could not be found in passage...
Do you guys think there might be a better solution? whose advice should I follow?

Well, in this scenario you don’t have an option that flows well and makes sense, but I’d agree with B since it’s technically correct and at least gets “Great Sounds Records” right. The advice favoring C is just misguided and myopic- you’re not supposed to automatically pick the shortest answer. There’s a correlation between good prose and concise prose, but that doesn’t mean “I like ravioli” is a better statement than “I dream lustfully of homemade ravioli.” Also, “concise” doesn’t mean “short”- it means economical (i.e., expressing information in the least amount of words). So, yeah, C is a bad answer because you lose information. On the ACT, which won’t have questions designed this poorly (most of the time), don’t go for the logic of C.
