same here @sraval1002. Increasing one’s score by multiple points is highly possible and happens to quite a few people.

@loosestool The first time I took the ACT I took a few practice tests, but didn’t even bother to read the explanations to ones I got wrong. Since I got the scores back I’ve been practicing English a lot and have gotten much beter at it. So just increasing my English from a 24 to 30 would increase my composite by 2.5 points. I’ve also gotten much better at math just by the fact that I’ve got a whole year of calculus under my belt now, which isn’t directly on the ACT, but it definitely improves your critical thinking on those hard problems. Reading and Science I expect to remain constant, but I found the science on the April ACT to be ridiculously hard, but I thought the same when I first took too. Sooooo, I guess I’ll find out in 5 hours :)

Also the first time I took the ACT was Sept 10, so it hasn’t been consecutive ACTs. There’s been quite a gap between 'em for me.

@loosestool I understand where you are coming from, it’s a completely valid arguement.
@raca yeah with a little bit of work anything is possible i guess lol

even if I took ACT plus writing will the multiple choice answers still come out tomorrow?

@loosestool I didn’t even think about consecutive test dates! From the initial post, I assumed a long delay (incorporating my own yearly delay from last June to this April), but based on the given information, your conclusion is extremely valid. And the ACT team probably does look at huge jumps whenever they occur, but nobody really knows the extent of such searches; similar answer documents in the same room and testing room disturbances may cause extra investigation. I’m sure that they don’t jump to conclusions like I did, though.

on actstudent.org log in, then go to “your test date and scores” and then look for “tested” next to the april 2012 date

@hannakrum yeah. your writing scores will get reported to you around 2 weeks after your multiple choice answers

@hannakrum Yes (unless your room had a disturbance), and that’s why the hype is so high on these forums for online release dates. MC only can usually get scores faster through the mail than online depending on location, but practically all Writing-takers get scores on the first online date.

@emma Are you sure? I’ve always got my writing scores at the same time as the main test. That usually is on the first night

okay, thanks guys!
The website was just sort of confusing.

Down to 4 hours?

I promised to not succumb to this stupid practice and that I’d just wait until the morning; for some reason, I’m FREAKIN’ PUMPED!!!

hello, people!

This was only my second time taking the ACT. 1st time i got a 27…I think i actually did worse this time. ( science, of course )

Good luck to everybody!

Did anyone else write about symbolic interactionism in their essay? Also, I’m worried that some of my examples were a little too heteronormative…

^Given your use of vocabulary in that post, I would assume so.

I made a reference to HAL from 2001, if that counts.

i thought this thread would be a bit more active…

There’s a more active thread under “April ACT Results,” but I think AP exams have bested our discussions.

Thanks for alerting to me of this, now i cant sleep

Omg im so stoked 45 more minutes?!
