ACT Countdown Thread!

So the scores are going to be posted tonight at 1 AM EST. Dang I am so nervous if I dont get a 34+, then I will have to study over the summer! So guys, what are your predictions for your scores, are you going to stay up, and how nervous are you?

Oct act: 33, e35 m34 r34 s28
Mar Act (state): 33, e35 m35 r 35 s 27
Apr Act Prediction: 34, e 35, m33, r 35, s 32

Only 14 hours and 18 minutes left!

This was my first time ever taking it! I honestly had no idea what to expect…especially with that time crunch over my head. I know I bombed it–SAT Test is obviously going to be my go-to-test. I guessed on 18 problems with the Math (I know what I did wrong…Got hung up on one problem), completed all reading and science. Essay–that’ll be interesting! Overall: I was completely unprepared but I am anxious to see what I made! Also, your grades are pretty amazing! The highest composite score one can make is 36, correct?

On my practice test I got 34E, 36M, 25R, and 31S, but I’m expecting a little less on English, the same for math, much, much higher on reading, and a little higher on science. Hopefully a 34+, but if not, I’m pretty sure on a 33.

Thanks Marie! Yeah the highest you can get is a 36, and I’m sure you did just fine.
Good luck mathfreak im hoping for a composite similar to what you want!

:S IM SO NERVOUS. I’ve only taken it once, back in October. I got 34’s on English and Reading, 29 on Math, and 28 on science for a 31 composite. I really need to refresh geometry and just become comfortable with the whole 60 problems in 60 minutes deal as well as quicker analysis of science. In the two that I’ve taken now, I haven’t done ANY prep or studying…which I plan on doing next time. What I’m hoping for on this one:

English: 34-35 Reading: 36 Math: 31 Science: 30 (So a 33 composite)

Good luck to everyone! Are the rest of you staying up for a release?

I’m gonna stay up too! Daamn i am insanely nervous :(

I’ve heard mixed things, but there isn’t necessarily an issue if your status still says “registered”, is there?

I have heard of people whos status changes to “tested” right before the scores are released, but I have also heard of people who are “registered” not getting there scores on time. I think you should be okay though.

I’ll definitely be up to see my scores! Also, my status says Tested. (South Carolina)

I’m staying up. My status is Tested so I hoping my score is posted tonight

The first time I took it I got a 28 composite(24E, 28M, 27S, 31R). This time I expect my english to jump up to 30, math to go up to 33-34, reading go down to 29, and science to drop to 25. My goal is to get atleast a 30, hopefully a 33. We’ll see!

So why are you expecting such a big incease in your score? At 28 are you borderline on getting into U of M?

28 is borderline, but I want to make sure I get in no matter what since it’s my dream. Getting a 30 should guarantee that I get in(knock on wood). I want to get a 33 just due to friendly family competitiveness, my bro got a 30 and sister got a 32.

are the scores 100% coming up tonight at 1?

if your status is tested than you will most likely get your scores tonight at 1 AM est

Furure Wolverine, I understand that you want to get a 30 - 32 because your bro and sis did, but that’s a big step from 28. In fact isn’t anything more than a 4 point increase going to be examined for cheating? I was wondering what you changed in your preparation to make a 30 -32 a realistic expectaion. I hope you get it, but I’m not sure hope is a good plan.

@loosestool A jump from 28 to 33 is very possible; most huge scoring jumps I’ve seen are from the upper teens to mid-twenties or from the upper twenties to mid-thirties. As for the four or more jump, I think the ACT may look more at others in the same room, but they definitely don’t instantly assume cheating. I jumped six points in four months (from a 29 to 35 between February and June) in my sophomore year and my scores weren’t even delayed, but they were probably scrutinized very thoroughly. As distributors know, improvement is all about maximization of potential: I had a terrible testing day and took the test cold for the 29, but studied rigorously and tested very well for the latter. I understand that some improvements aren’t realistically possible, but I’ve seen several instances between myself and my friends that have defied imposed odds.

I started at a 28 and moved up to my current score of 33

Congrats on the improvement and in your case it was over 6 months. In the Wolverine’s case it seemed he was suggesting this improvement between subsequent tests (maybe my bad asumption). I had always heard that an increase of 4 between consecutive tests triggered additional scrutiny from the ACT folks. There are lots of valid reasons that can justify this type of increase, perhaps it just involves some additional discussion with the ACT Team.

where do we check to see if our status changed to tested?
