Act Dilemma for MechE Application

Greetings all,

Recently I have come across a issue in what ACT score/s I should send in.
Note: This is an Mech Engineering application

ACT 1: 32 composite
30 English
31 Math
34 Reading
33 science

ACT 2: 34 composite
35 English
35 Math
35 Reading
29 Science

Obviously for super score I’m set with a 35 however in concerns for non-super scoring schools, I was wondering what to do.
Choice 1: Just send in the 34 and roll the dice with my 29 in science
or
Choice 2: Send both scores despite not being super scored to show that I am not inept in science but risk 1) showing both a 30 English and 31 math and 2) if they even will look at the lower composite test’s subscores

This is primarily concerned with schools that have a 34 in the 75th percentile so maybe choice 1 is the way to go? A 800 science SAT II will be accompanying it so will that mitigate the effect?
Opinions are requested, Thanks

What schools and what is your GPA? Do all your school choices superscore or just a few of them?

  1. Question is concerned with Early Decision Cornell Engineering
  2. Not too pretty uw:3.75, w4.3 mostly AP and Honors from small private
  3. just a few

I would send them both. Congrats on phenomenal scores.

Send both… They need to see the 35 in math.

Cornell does not give you an option. You are required to submitt all ACT scores.

@drusba understood thank you

The science section is one of two very weak ACT sections that add noise to the total ACT score. That is well understood by most schools. Many top schools don’t even look at them.
