ACT Dillema!

Hi guys, I have been practicing for the ACT and I am coming across a major issue, timing and pacing. How should I pace myself for the reading and science sections? We are given 35 minutes for each section, but everytime I take it I get usually 35's or 36's but I finish within 40 minutes. What should I do to change this?????
Any help would be appreciated!

thanks!

Well what usually consumes the majority of your time? Reading the passage or searching for answers? Or spending time on the really hard questions?

Im gonna say reading the passage. When i try to quickly skim through the passage i tend to make mistakes, but when i legit just read the passage then go to the questions i usually always get them. What should i dooo???

BUMPPPP. Come on guys dont let this thread die!!

Keep practicing with strict time limits of 35 minutes?

whatever you do, struggling user, DO NOT use any testing “strategy” for the science section. i used the princeton review strategy of grouping each kind of graph and doing them in order my first time on the ACT and i got an 18 on the science section. second time, retook it with no strategy and got a 30. for me, i just read the questions and go back to the graphs and look for the answers. i don’t waste my time with going over the material first unless it’s a conflicting scientists one. hope that helps!

oh and for the reading section, most of the questions refer back to the passage with line numbers anyway, so i quickly SKIM through the passage and just go straight to the questions that are easily found. and then i search a little more in depth for the ones that don’t have reference numbers.
