I sent NW my ACT and got a congratulations email?
Here’s the email:
Just a quick note to congratulate you on your ACT scores.
You did well! While test scores aren’t everything, when accompanied by strong grades in challenging courses they do a pretty good job of predicting performance at selective schools like Northwestern.
Imagine an entire first-year class filled with equally bright students. That’s an apt description of Northwestern’s Class of 2020 (middle 50% SAT CR + M of 1390-1560, ACT 32–34), which also set a record for racial and ethnic diversity, with 22% of the class consisting of African-American and Hispanic/Latino students, 20% Asian-American students, and 10% international students.
In addition to intelligence, Northwestern students are known for their creativity. A glimpse at a group of graduates illustrates this well: Stephen Colbert (Late-night TV), Andrew Mason (Groupon founder), Will Butler (Arcade Fire co-founder), Virginia Rometty (IBM CEO), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfeld), Michael Wilbon (ESPN), Veronica Roth (Divergent author), Cody Keenan (President Obama’s Director of Speechwriting), Cristina Henriquez (The Book of Unknown Americans author), and George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones creator).
