ACT extended time: if you don't do a section will they invalidate the entire test

My son took the ACT for a talent search test and was in the extended time room, where the students can determine for themselves how much time to allot to each subtest. As a result of poor planning, he left an entire section blank. Has anyone else done this? Did they go ahead and score the test or just invalidate it?

They would score the test.

Whatever section he skipped he would receive an aberrantly low score.

^Yes, they will score the test. It would have been a better strategy, however, to take at least 1 min and fill in the section randomly as the ACT doesn’t penalize wrong answers…
