Today, Oct.5 I took the SAT. After the 5 minute break between Section 2 and 3 we were told to flip to Section 3 of the math no calculator portion. After 7 questions in, I realized I was doing the wrong Section of the test. I was doing Section 4 section. As the proctor walked by I told her about this issue and she said she’ll ask her supervisors. In a daze, I flipped to the right section of the test and finished it with the remaining time I had. The proctor told then told me that she was going to fill out an irregularity sheet and that I should just continue the test as if nothing happened. So I took the break and did Section 4, finishing with 20 minutes left. Finished with the Section 4 test, I closed my book and sat there for the longest 20 minutes of my life until time ran out. Does anyone if SAT will allow this mishap? If not, should I just retake it in November? Also, what will happen to my SAT Essay score? Thanks guys, I’m stressing out rn.
I would retake. SAT could provide your scores in a timely manner and then send you a letter several months later that your scores are invalid.
There have been CC posts in the past about scores being canceled several months after receiving their original scores.
Since one of my tests are still put on hold and the exact outcome of that test isn’t exactly confirmed, would that have an effect on the grading of my Nov. test or would they just treat the Nov. test as a regular SAT test and give me a score like everyone else?
I’m not sure what “on hold” means.
But having scores pending on an earlier test sitting would not have an impact on the scoring of a future test.
