Is it true that the SAT is more respected and valued by colleges that take both? In other words, if one happens to have pretty much equal SAT and ACT scores which one should they send (if sending both is not an option)? I am mainly interested in these schools, among others, Colgate, Cornell, Claremont Mckenna, Tufts, NYU, Northwestern...

They say that the ACT is viewed equally to the SAT.

My friend got into Cornell with just taking the ACT.

I got into Cornell, Tufts, NYU, and Northwestern with my ACT scores.

No, it's not true. They say they weight them equally and they do. Neither one is favored anymore.

remember that the purpose of either test is to rank applicants among each other using a reliable and consistent tool. all the school cares about is the percentile; they don't care which test you score it on.
